In de NRC van 23 juni verscheen een artikel van Prof Dr Steven Brakman en Prof Dr Arjen van Witteloostuijn onder de kop En de binnenstad bloedt ook al leeg. Vanuit een (economisch) historische analyse komen zij tot dezelfde conclusie als in het boek “het einde van winkels”. Binnensteden zullen veranderen om aantrekkelijk te blijven voor winkels en winkelend publiek.
